Bilander Hall I & II

Bilander Hall I and II are the acquisition and renovation of two, five-story brick SRO buildings with a total of 77 units.  The buildings are respectively located on the Upper West Side and Manhattanville in Manhattan.

The intention of these developments is SRO preservation and moderate rehabilitation for current low-income occupants, and future community and special needs tenants. All future tenants will be individuals who are eligible for low-income housing.

Bilander Hall will have an on-site social services program for all tenants. Program goals focus on housing retention and economic, social, psychological, and health stability.

Social Workers and Case Management Staff provide the following services:

  • Counseling

  • Case management

  • Facilitated groups

  • Community referrals

Community Lantern Corp., a social service affiliate of Lantern Organization, provides the services for all tenants.

Bilander Hall I & II are within walking distance of commercial establishments and convenience stores, public transportation, schools, parks and playgrounds, community facilities, and hospitals and clinics.
