Formerly homeless individuals face significant barriers to finding stable employment. Our young adult residents grew up in foster care environments that were not conducive to learning. Some have never written a resume and appeared at a job interview. Our veteran tenants have experienced significant traumas. Many of our residents struggle with physical and mental disabilities, making the job search even more difficult.
Lantern Community Services provides cutting-edge programs that help our residents access the many benefits of employment. Our employment specialists implement the innovative Individual Placement and Support Supported Employment model. Staff focus on identifying the strengths and preferences of each resident in order to provide them with individualized support. Clients receive continuous assistance during their job search with staff helping them identify jobs that meet their preferences, fill out applications, and even walk with them to interviews.
