Huntersmoon Hall is the renovation of a 145 unit commercial SRO to 136 units of permanent supportive housing in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan. All units are reserved for formerly homeless single adults living with special needs and/or with limited incomes. A unit is reserved for the building's live-in superintendent, who is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
Lantern Community Services Inc. delivers on-site supportive service programming to all Huntersmoon Hall tenants. Program offices offer space for staff to conduct individual and group meetings, life skills counseling, education and employment development, as well as referral support.
Supportive services at Huntersmoon Hall provide tenants with a variety of opportunities for personal growth. Staff works closely with the tenants to ensure that they achieve their program goals such as obtaining stable employment and participating activities centered around health and wellness. Program staff have helped residents develop skills in the areas of financial management, treatment compliance, nutrition and integration into the surrounding community. The program also offers tenant-organized activities such as Healthy Meals Groups, Movie Nights, and Game Nights.
