Prospero Hall will provide 87 units of newly constructed permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans and low-income single adults residing in Manhattan's East Harlem community. Priority for all low-income units will be given to residents of the local community.
A community garden adjacent to the development known as the Magic Garden will be permanently preserved.
Lantern Community Services, Inc. will offer on-site supportive service programming to all Prospero Hall tenants. Program offices are available for staff to conduct individual and group meetings, life skills counseling, education services and employment development, and referral support.
Supportive services at Prospero Hall will provide tenants with a variety of opportunities for personal growth. Staff and tenants will work together to establish individual goal-centered service plans. Staff will work closely with tenants to ensure they achieve their program goals such as obtaining stable employment and participating in activities designed to promote healthy lifestyles.
